One glance at Morgan Pilcher's body of work and the fashion director, stylist and photographer’s affinity for the elegant, structured and composed is palpable. Originally trained as a graphic designer, the principles of quality and enduring design and a taste for the timeless and refined continue to guide her personal and professional aesthetic. As an artist and image-maker, she composes work that speaks to her personal style, inspirations and values.

01 THE MOMENT I FELL IN LOVE WITH IMAGE MAKING WAS

at 19 years old, during my first trip as a fashion assistant to Rajasthan, India for Teen Vogue. Being in such a soulful and colourful place, I realised my passion for travel and creating images. I feel incredibly lucky that my job takes me around the globe. I am most inspired when I am travelling.

02 AN IMAGE THAT ALWAYS BRINGS ME JOY

is a photograph of my late grandma, Hazel, on the Staten Island ferry in front of the Statue of Liberty. She was so effortlessly chic.

03 MY STYLE PHILOSOPHY IS

buy timeless pieces you will cherish forever.

04 THE LAST ITEM OF CLOTHING I ACQUIRED

a pair of black, silk trousers and some amazing white, faux-crocodile kitten heels from Totême. I absolutely love all that Totême does. I feel they have a perfectly refined approach to everyday dressing which makes every piece desirable.

05 THE ACCESSORY I WILL NEVER PART WITH

my Auntie, Bonnie, has given me a lot of her Native American jewellery that she has collected throughout her life and they are very sentimental to me.

06 THE HOMEWARE ITEM I'M EYEING RIGHT NOW

my dear friends at Buchanan Studio made an amazing statement chair called the “Studio Chair” and I have been eyeing them for a while now.

07 SOMEWHERE THAT ALWAYS DRAWS ME BACK

my hometown of Avalon, Sydney, Australia (pictured here). It’s paradise to me. Oh, and New York City! The energy of New York is infectious.

08 THE SCENTS THAT REMIND ME OF HOME

sunscreen, surfboard wax, mosquito repellent coils and jasmine flowers. Each of them get to me every time and I love it.
