Eileen Grey’s Côte d’Azur sanctuary, the villa “Tempe à Pailla” was imagined as a place of rest (tempe a païa: “the time to yawn” in Menton dialect). A synergy of modernism and nature, Grey built the villa’s terrace to ensure 360-degree, panoramic views of the town, mountains and sea. Combining our Substantial Wings hoops, Ville et Mer and Mini Ville et Mer ear cuffs; the Tempe à Pailla earring set references the sculptural elegance of Grey’s abode whilst setting the foundations of a considered earscape.
All of the materials that we use in our jewellery are ethically and sustainably sourced using Fair Mined certified gold and predominantly recycled silver.
The Substantial Wings earrings are cast and assembled in Thailand by a community of artisans from our partner factory, Boma. The gold vermeil option is finished in the UK by our plating specialist, D&M. Read more about the story behind our pieces and their makers here.
